| Don't Take Chances Selecting the Best Youth Football Program for your kids - Bee Responsible!! | |
Allow me to introduce myself... My name is "Touchdown Tim."
Editor of - "Mount Airy Youth Athletic Advisory" a Mt Airy youth football editorial guide to local programs.
I'm here to provide information about youth football programs in our Mt. Airy area for the upcoming 2009 fall football season and give you the straight talk about everything you need to help make an informed decision for your childs welfare regarding participation in youth football in the Mt. Airy MD community and surrounding areas.
Most folks wouldn't bother with all this mumbo jumbo but I feel there are some real important facts you need to take into consideration before exposing your child to the best youth sport in the land...
"Full Contact Good Old Fashioned American Football".
Mt. Airy, MD is smack dab in the middle of the state where 4 counties come together and does not have a high school to call its own. Children of the community have many options when it comes to athletics and there are many sports organizations to choose from so why not hit the candy store and pick just any old flavor you ask? B/C it's your kids we're talking about here and if you're like me ... nothing is more important than your kids. Will it be Chocolate Covered Mt. Airy Bulldogs, Cherry Apple Linganore Lancers, Jolly Rancher Urbana Hawks or the West Howard County Gummy Bear Warhawks? or better yet the Winfield Caramel Cavaliers!
Not all programs are created equal. You need to take the time to find out how well a program is organized, who the leadership is and how transparent are the program policies, league rules. How caoches are selected is important. Do they offer a refund if you change your mind before the season starts? IF NOT THERE IS A REASON and I know this reason first hand... they are afraid you'll find out about a better program because there are many and you'll want to ask for your money back and switch. If they offer no refund it's a way of making that decision financially much more difficult. Bee careful before you register. Try to make the right choice after you have investigated the options. Look for programs that provide you with all the information you need online and make it easy to find. The ones that ask you to register before providing information are not making it easy to compare and do what's right for yourself and your player.
On the other side of the coin most programs are quite progressive in their thinking and in the way they approach the game. Concern for every kid on the field is the utmost important factor. Regardless of skill set or ability. Some programs have found a way for everyone to enjoy football not just the kids born w/ lots of natural ability and talent. Development of the game, fundamentals and fun should be at the core of any youth program. One sure fire way to get an idea of which programs in your area are doing a great job and keeping people happy is to ask them about their enrollment numbers. If the program is suffering shrinkage there is a problem. On the other hand if the program is growing in numbers or has a wait list then you can probably bet there is a good reason for it.
The decision can be the difference between a winning experience and a losing experience. I'm not talking about the score of the actual game here but the score of the overall experience. In the end football is a unique sport and requires a great deal of responsibility on the part of the organization to pull off a successful season for most everyone involved.
Bee Smart! Spend the time... Check out all the areas of this website especially the pages on football organizations and the links to their websites where facts can be confirmed and verified in many cases. Fotball is a community building opportunity.
Youth football in the Mount Airy region is a very popular sport indeed. No wonder? Football is a great way for young athletes to learn teamwork, discipline, stay fit, gain confidence, have fun and make friends for life.
